Normandy

On the 6th of June, 1944, the Allied forces landed on the Low-Normandy beaches: it was the beginning of the Battle of Normandy and the Liberation of Europe.

Visitors today can explore old army bunkers and war relics along the five beaches: Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword, while museums and memorials throughout the region stand as forceful reminders of this decisive period of the Second World War.
